Author: Ben Dover I bought this phone as a replacement for my old Sony Ericsson K750i (it was having continuous hardware failures).
First off, this phone is incredibly thin, less than half of my old K750. The battery life isn\'t anything to shake a stick at, but it\'s pretty good for a phone this thin.
The camera is indeed 5mp, but when compared to my 4.8mp Fujifilm, you can immediately tell the difference. I wasn\'t surprised by that, this is indeed a phone and not a dedicated camera. The lens cover is probably the most clever I\'ve ever seen on a Cybershot Ericsson.
The amazing Java support and accelerometers are a great area for geeks like me to fiddle around with.
The web browser, memory card slot and lack of WiFi/IRDA are things that really irk me.
The web browser straight out sucks. I wish there was a Java version of Firefox.
The M2 slot is used so you\'re forced to buy incredibly overpriced M2 cards. An 8gb M2 card is $48 on Newegg (where I bought mine), while a 8gb microSD is $25.
The C905 (which isn\'t available in the U.S. yet) has WiFi, but is slated to cost almost a third more (FOR WIFI!). And it may be outdated, but with the IRDA you can easily run Java applications to use the port as a universal remote.
I give the phone a 5/6.
Get this if you need a camera and a good media player, not if you\'re doing any serious instant messaging or web browsing. This isn\'t designed for that.
