Every component of the Vertu Signature is engineered and crafted to perfection. Beautiful as well as functional, the SIM drawer is engraved with a unique Vertu pattern. The drawer on precious metal models is made from solid gold or platinum. All solid gold or platinum parts including the drawer are stamped with both the Vertu and Swiss Assay office hallmarks. All the ringtones available on the new Signature are taken from a piece of music composed exclusively for Vertu by the Academy AwardTM winning composer Dario Marianelli. The composition was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and all the flute solos were performed by Andrea Griminelli, one of the world's leading flautists.
To create such an exceptional phone, Vertu has used only the finest materials. The 'sea of sapphire' that makes up the face of the Vertu Signature takes more than two weeks to create in a 2000°C furnace. Almost impossible to scratch, it is so hard it must be cut, ground and polished with diamond-tipped tools. The patented keypad contains 4.75 carats of solid ruby bearings; each one set in its exact place like a jewel. These ruby bearings slide on pure sapphire crystal surfaces that are aligned so that no part of the metal keys touches the sapphire face of the phone. The result is no friction, no wear and the world's most satisfying click - a Signature trademark
